Senator Joe Kyrillos is an outspoken advocate for fiscal restraint who has led the fight to control property taxes, reduce spending and make government smaller and more responsive to the people.

Senator Kyrillos helped write the law, championed by Governor Chris Christie, that capped property tax increases at no more than two percent. He is sponsoring many of Governor Christie’s “Tool Kit” initiatives to reform government and to help state and local government reduce costs and cut wasteful spending.

Some of Senator Kyrillos’ major legislative accomplishments include sponsorship of the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Planning Authority Act and of the Business Employment Incentive Program, the state’s centerpiece incentive program intended to stimulate job creation. He worked to establish the New Jersey School Report Card, which holds public schools accountable, and sponsored legislation closing CAFRA loopholes permitting inappropriate coastal development.

Senator Kyrillos sits on both the Senate Economic Growth and Judiciary Committees. He was the Chairman of the New Jersey Republican State Committee from 2001-2004 and New Jersey Chairman for Mitt Romney’s 2008 presidential campaign. In 2009, he served as the Chairman of Governor Chris Christie’s successful campaign and was a member of his transition team serving as the liaison to all transition sub-committees.

In addition to his official duties, the Senator works in the private sector as Senior Managing Director of Colliers International, the commercial real estate services firm with offices in New York and Parsippany. He is also an advisor to Newport Capital Group, Red Bank, NJ. His past experiences include Special Assistant to the U.S. Secretary of the Interior and the Vice President’s staff for the 1984 Reagan-Bush campaign.

Joe has hosted a statewide cable television program, Tour of New Jersey, and other media appearances include CNN Inside Politics, Paula Zahn Now, Hardball, Scarborough Country, Hannity & Colmes, At Large with Geraldo Rivera, Fox & Friends, Cavuto, Varney & Co., News Forum with Gabe Pressman and numerous interviews on New York and Philadelphia network affiliate television and radio, and on the New Jersey Network.

Senator Kyrillos, 51, graduated from Hobart College and holds a Master’s degree from the Boston University School of Public Communication. Born and raised in New Jersey, Joe and his wife Susan Doctorian Kyrillos are raising their children Max and Georgia there and are active with local charities.
